Degrees and Certifications:
BS in Visual Arts from Lamar University with teaching certifications in K-12 Drama and K-12 Visual Art
I grew up in Southeast Texas where I participated in high school theatre and UIL One Act Play state competitions. While earning my degree in Visual Arts with an emphasis in oil painting and ceramics, my high school Activities Director called and asked if I could come back to teach the high school Theatre program on an emergency basis as a full-time substitute. I agreed, so I became a theatre teacher during my senior year of college. Now, 10 years have passed and I have taught Visual Art, Theatre, Speech, English and Digital Media across all grade levels.
My family and I are ecstatic to be living in Colorado, away from the Texas heat and hummingbird-sized mosquitos! We love camping, hiking, and spending time on the reservoir.
I am overjoyed to be a part of the Norwood team and share my love of theatre with the kids. I have a ton of exciting activities planned for the Norwood Performing Arts Collective and hope to help enliven the school and community through the arts!
