Being a special educator is just one part of my life.  I have taught for 24 years, most of which have been teaching nearly every grade, and special education.  I attended all 3 Universities in Arizona. I graduated from Northern Arizona University.  I have two degrees and a masters degree.  My life consists of many other interests and experiences.  Spending time with my family is what I enjoy most.  I have been married to my husband for 27 years, and we have 3 children together.  As a family we enjoy traveling, laughing and cooking together. Though family is closest to my heart, friends are an important aspect of my life as well.

Laughing with friends, meeting new people, and socializing is a big part of me.  I love a good joke!  I have learned in the past that I can get through about anything as long as my friends and family are close, a positive attitude is a must, and laughter is allowed.  Those who know me well know that I'm always up for a memorable time... I'm super spontaneous and willing to try about anything, but I can be serious too.

In my spare time I enjoy photography.  I have a passion for writing.  I crave moments I can spend working in our yard.  I am enlightened being outdoors.  It is a difficult task for me to stay in the house.  

Things about me that most do not know are: 1.)  I was a sign language interpreter for several years.  2.) Even though I like to travel, I have no sense of direction.  3.) I could fish all day, never catch a thing, and be perfectly content.  4.) A shark longer than myself swam next to me in open ocean waters. 5.) I have been stung by a small sting ray. 6.) I'm scared of lightning, and swimming in a lake or ocean at night. 7.) I'm a wimp when it comes to spiders.
