Degrees and Certifications:
Born on the Front Range, I spent my early years in Evergreen, Colorado and then moved with my family to Southwest Missouri to a 120 acre farm. I attended Truman State University in Missouri and received a Bachelor of Arts in History and International Studies and was awarded Departmental and Cum Laude honors. It did not take me long after graduation to pack up my Jeep and head over the mountains to Telluride. Yearning for open space and a beautiful view of the mountains, I purchased a home in Norwood in 2005. I’ve lived in the Norwood area since 2005 and am grateful to be part of this community. I share my home with a supportive husband, four dogs, a cat, a parrot, and a lot of outdoor gear. We enjoy mountain biking, paddle boarding, hiking, and camping. I began working for Norwood Schools in 2010 and since then have earned experience as a teacher, advisor, and dean of students. In 2013 I completed a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership through Colorado Mesa University and was named the Distinguished Student of my cohort. I am passionate about public education and could not imagine a more challenging or rewarding life’s work. I believe in building relationships and developing an atmosphere where learning is synonymous with discovery.
