Rebecca Barr
I was born and raised in Heber, Utah where I met my husband of 14 years. We have a daughter, son, three dogs, and two feisty cats. We moved from Salt Lake City to the Paradox Valley in 2015 after we decided that we needed a change of scenery. We both left our jobs, I was working retail and my husband was a lead chemist of a metallurgical lab and started our life living off grid, eventually building a farm on 40 acres with alpacas, goats, pigs, and lots of chickens. I worked during that time at the Paradox Valley Charter School as a paraprofessional, teacher, math and reading interventionist and many other different positions until it closed in 2023. I decided I loved being in the classroom and teaching so much that I wanted to go back to school and get my bachelors degree. I have been attending Grand Canyon University as an online student since the summer of 2023. I worked as a paraprofessional for the West End Schools before coming here to Norwood. When I began college, we decided that farm life was becoming too much and we were wanting to go in a different direction and pursue new goals. We sold our farm animals and began living life back on the grid. We would like to have a farm again one day but for right now I would like to focus on teaching and school work while my husband works from home as a UGC creator. We now live in Redvale and are enjoying every minute of it!
